The 90-Days of LIVE Social Growth Challenge
According to Smart Insights, the number of social media users across the globe is over 3.4 billion in 2019.
In case you weren’t counting, that’s almost half the world’s population.
Here in the United States, 95% of Americans engage in social media use.
I don’t know about you, but this is a huge incentive to get online and start growing your social media, like yesterday. However, the task of social media growth can be a difficult pill to swallow.
What makes growing social media accounts so difficult is the amount of consistent effort that must go into properly growing and managing your accounts. While it is possible to purchase followers or use bots to engage on your behalf, these tactics come with a slew of cons that just don’t make them worth it.
I mean, what’s the point in buying followers if none of them are even qualified to work with you in the end?
You’re smarter than that, let’s take your marketing budget and put it elsewhere.
Instead, lets approach social media with the strategy of consistency. This means consistently posting to your channels. Consistently creating quality content your audience wants to follow and engage with. Consistently showing up every day to promote quality growth in your metrics.
While posting frequently on your feed is a great start and a definite do, you may be held back, paralyzed in wondering what kind of content to even post. Or maybe you just don’t have the eye to curate a styled feed.
These are obstacles that can easily be overcome with a little practice and planning. But maybe you just don’t enjoy posting to your feed. I’ll admit it, curating and planning an aesthetic Instagram feed is one of my least favorite marketing activities.
Well, there’s good news for those of us who shy away from posting on their feed a little more than they should.
Your feed is no longer one of the strongest ways to to engage your audience on social media.
Going live and using the stories feature on your platform of choice has become the marketer’s secret weapon to social media growth.
Here in your stories you don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to curate as heavily since the post will be gone in 24 hours. In your stories is where you can get on a more casual, personable level with your audience. It’s where you can establish yourself as a leader in your community. It’s where you can engage with your audience to establish trust and be the agent at top-of-mind.
In a study on Instagram, research reveals that 39% of Instagram users are more interested in a brand after viewing its videos in stories.
Implementing stories as a regular part of your marketing strategy becomes even more appealing when you take into consideration the fact that large companies like Zillow, Trulia & Realtor.com are slow to adopt new trends — such as stories — as a method in their own marketing.
With so much to gain by adding stories to your real estate marketing strategy, I ask you this…
What’s holding you back from going live on social media?
I bet one of these common objections comes to mind:
I don’t know what to say
My hair looks awful today
I’m not tech-savvy and I don’t have a video camera
I hate the sound of my voice
I’m not good at public speaking and I stutter over my words
No one’s going to follow me
It’s okay to feel these things - natural even. No one becomes a natural in front of the camera over night.
The face-to-face video personalities we all know and love got that way by bucking it up and filming that first, completely amateur video. Then they made another and another and another, improving their on-camera skills each time. And each time they stepped in front of the camera, we grew to know, like and trust them.
This is what I want for you: to get your face out there and build trust with your community. This way it’s your face they see when thinking about hiring an agent.
